Manufacturing Wood Products
Plywood is a type of engineered wood made by peeling thin layers or veneers of wood from logs, which are then dried, sorted, and graded. The veneers are glued together using a strong adhesive and pressed under heat and high pressure to form a strong, durable panel. The finished plywood is trimmed to size, sanded, and inspected for quality before it is graded based on factors such as the number of knots and voids in the wood, the thickness and quality of the veneers, and the overall appearance of the finished panel. The manufacturing process is complex but results in a versatile and widely used building material that is used in construction, furniture, and other applications.
Manufacturing Process
Plywood is a wood-based panel product comprised of a collection of veneers that are glued together with a resin. To sum up the production process; logs are peeled into veneers, the veneers are lathered in glue, laid up so that the grain direction of each veneer is perpendicular to its adjacent veneer, pressed together, trimmed and sanded.
1. Seasoned wood
Seasoning wood is the process of correctly drying timber in order to remove moisture in the cells of the wood walls. It is a necessary procedure to produce seasoned timber, helping it to burn cleanly.
2. Treated wood
Treated wood is wood that has been appropriately treated with preservative chemicals with the intent of prolonging its intended usefulness lifecycle compared to untreated wood.
3. Made with MAT PUT
The range of common materials for manufacturing anti-fatigue mats includes vinyl, wood, PVC tubing, rubber, PVC closed-cell foam, polypropylene, nitrile rubber. Anti-fatigue mats were initially used in factories.
4. Port Side Calibrated Panel
Calibrated Plywood is the most modern type of plywood that is manufactured using state-of-the-art machines, to impart uniform thickness and evenness, making it the best product for post lamination processes
5. 180° flat plywood.
Our plywood is 180 degrees flat and comes with a smooth finishing. Products of Mahashakti Plywoods are used extensively for many purposes. We are proud to claim this firm as topping the market of plywood with the support of our loyal customers.
6. Termite & Bones Resistant
When you decide to build a new place for yourself or revamp the existing one, or just want to have something as little as a change of a furniture piece, you seem to check the same boxes for the same set of qualities.
7. Made with MUF & PF Resin
Melamine Urea Formaldehyde Resins are poly-condensation products of the reaction of formaldehyde with urea and melamine. These resins have higher water and weather resistance and therefore are suitable for the production of panels for exterior use or in conditions of high humidity. Phenol formaldehyde (PF) resin is a polymer condensate obtained.
8. Regular Testing in LAB
Generally, you notice some sign like ISI-303 or ISI-710 on plywood sheet when you purchase it. Those numbers are Indian standard guidelines number, which is given after the testing of plywood and assure the quality. ISI-303 is for general purpose (commercial and BWR-boiling water resistant) plywood and ISI-710 is for marine plywood.
